A white carbon fiber iPhone case made of pure carbon does not exist: carbon fiber is black all the way through, so any "white carbon" case is necessarily painted, wrapped in film or made from a different fiber. Fibernium offers two white cases that say so plainly: MAILLE, a diamond-pattern weave of carbon and white aramid, and GIVRE, made of fiberglass woven to look like carbon. Both are available for the iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max, at €67.90 in HALO and €72.90 in MONOCOQUE.
At a glance
- Two white materials: MAILLE (carbon and aramid) and GIVRE (fiberglass, Style Carbone range).
- Two shapes, priced the same for both materials: HALO at €67.90 (camera plateau left visible), MONOCOQUE at €72.90 (camera plateau covered).
- Three compatible models: iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. There is no white version for other iPhone models.
Why doesn't carbon fiber come in white?
Carbon fiber is made from a precursor yarn, most often polyacrylonitrile (PAN). This yarn starts out white. It is then oxidized and heated to very high temperatures until almost nothing but carbon remains: according to CompositesWorld, the finished fiber contains more than 90% carbon, and it is this transformation that turns the yarn from white to black.
Black is therefore not an added color: it is the color of the material itself. Pigments can be combined with carbon, as on our colored versions, or the carbon can be covered with paint or film. But a carbon weave that is white on its own, without any coating, does not exist.
A listing for a "white carbon case" should therefore get your attention. Our guide real carbon fiber or imitation details the criteria for telling them apart.
MAILLE: carbon and white aramid in a diamond weave
The MAILLE case is the only white Fibernium case that contains carbon fiber. Its back is a mixed weave of carbon fiber and white aramid fiber, laid out in regular diamonds. Each fiber has its role: carbon provides stiffness, aramid its abrasion resistance.
This is not a printed pattern but a composite fabric. Up close, the diamond pattern is clearly visible; from a distance, the case looks white with a subtle texture.
MAILLE comes in two shapes: the HALO MAILLE iPhone case (€67.90) and the MONOCOQUE MAILLE iPhone case (€72.90).
GIVRE: fiberglass with a carbon-style weave
The GIVRE case is part of the Style Carbone range. It is not made of carbon fiber, and its product page says so clearly. Its back is made of fiberglass, twill-woven exactly like carbon: the same diagonally crossed tows, the same texture, the same reflections that shift with the light.
Fiberglass, unlike carbon, does exist in white. GIVRE therefore offers the twill of our FIBRE cases in a shade that carbon cannot achieve: it is the closest visual match to "white carbon".
GIVRE also comes in two shapes: the HALO GIVRE iPhone case (€67.90) and the MONOCOQUE GIVRE iPhone case (€72.90).
MAILLE or GIVRE: the comparison
Same price, same compatible models: only the fiber and the pattern set them apart.
| Case | Material | Contains carbon | Pattern | Camera plateau | Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| HALO MAILLE | Carbon and white aramid | Yes | Diamonds | Visible | €67.90 |
| MONOCOQUE MAILLE | Carbon and white aramid | Yes | Diamonds | Covered | €72.90 |
| HALO GIVRE | Fiberglass | No | Carbon-style twill | Visible | €67.90 |
| MONOCOQUE GIVRE | Fiberglass | No | Carbon-style twill | Covered | €72.90 |
If you want your case to contain carbon, MAILLE is the only white option. If you are mainly after the look of woven carbon in white, GIVRE is the most faithful reproduction.
HALO or MONOCOQUE: show or cover the camera block
HALO: the camera plateau stays visible
On a HALO, the back stops at the edge of the camera block and frames it with a thin border: the original camera plateau remains visible.
MONOCOQUE: one continuous surface
On a MONOCOQUE, the material also covers the camera plateau, with a precise cutout for each lens and for the flash. Seen from the back, the surface is continuous, all in one piece. This is the €72.90 option.
Both shapes are also available in genuine black carbon, FIBRE or FORGE. Our guide to the carbon fiber iPhone 17 Pro case compares every HALO and MONOCOQUE variant.
Which iPhone models have a white case?
All four white cases, MAILLE and GIVRE, in HALO as well as MONOCOQUE, are available for three models: the iPhone Air, the iPhone 17 Pro and the iPhone 17 Pro Max. Each variant has its own cutout: select your model in the "Model" menu. If in doubt, Apple's page to identify your iPhone model will help.
For any other iPhone, from the iPhone 11 to the iPhone 18 Pro Max, Fibernium does not offer a white case. Two options remain:
- the genuine carbon cases FIBRE, FORGE or BRUTE, in black, at €44.90;
- the colored versions at €49.90, such as the colored FORGE iPhone case in red, green, purple, blue, gold, midnight blue/gold or black. Our article on the carbon case for women presents every shade.
How to avoid a fake "white carbon" case elsewhere?
Since carbon is black, a case sold as "white carbon" falls into one of three categories: a different fiber with a carbon-style weave (such as fiberglass), a mixed weave that combines carbon with a light-colored fiber (such as aramid), or carbon covered with paint or a printed film.
The first two are honest if the product page says so. The third is a problem: paint or film can wear off with friction. So read the "material" line on the product page: "carbon effect" or "carbon look", with no fiber named, tells you nothing about what you are buying.
At Fibernium, every product page across all our products names the material: genuine carbon for FIBRE, FORGE and BRUTE, carbon and aramid for MAILLE, fiberglass for GIVRE and HYBRIDE.
MagSafe and care for a white case
The HALO and MONOCOQUE product pages, for MAILLE as well as GIVRE, do not mention MagSafe compatibility, unlike our classic cases. If you use a magnetic charger or mount, check this point before ordering. Our article on the carbon MagSafe case explains what makes a case compatible.
For care, a soft, slightly damp cloth is all you need. The products to avoid are listed in our guide to cleaning and caring for a carbon case.
In conclusion
Carbon is black by nature: a white "carbon" iPhone case is either a mixed weave, a different fiber or painted carbon. Fibernium has chosen the first two routes and states it on every product page. MAILLE combines carbon and white aramid in diamonds, GIVRE reproduces the carbon twill in fiberglass. Both are available for the iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max, at €67.90 in HALO and €72.90 in MONOCOQUE. All cases are gathered in the Carbon iPhone Case collection, with free shipping and 30 days to change your mind.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a white carbon iPhone case?
Not in pure carbon: carbon fiber is black all the way through and contains more than 90% carbon. A white case is necessarily a mixed weave, a different fiber or painted carbon. Fibernium offers MAILLE, in carbon and white aramid, and GIVRE, in fiberglass with a carbon-style weave.
Does the MAILLE case really contain carbon?
Yes. The back of the MAILLE case is a mixed weave of carbon fiber and white aramid fiber, laid out in diamonds. It is not a printed pattern but a composite fabric. It is the only white Fibernium case that contains carbon fiber, at €67.90 in HALO and €72.90 in MONOCOQUE.
Is the GIVRE case made of carbon?
No. The GIVRE case is part of the Style Carbone range: its back is made of fiberglass, twill-woven like carbon, with the same crossed tows and the same reflections. Fibernium states this clearly on its product page. It offers the look of woven carbon in a white shade that carbon cannot achieve.
What is the difference between HALO and MONOCOQUE?
The HALO leaves the iPhone's original camera plateau visible and frames it with a thin border. The MONOCOQUE also covers the camera plateau, with a precise cutout for each lens, for a continuous surface. In white, the HALO costs €67.90 and the MONOCOQUE €72.90, in MAILLE as well as GIVRE.
Which iPhone models are Fibernium's white cases available for?
The MAILLE and GIVRE cases are available for the iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max, each with a model-specific cutout. For other iPhone models, from the iPhone 11 to the iPhone 18 Pro Max, Fibernium offers black carbon cases at €44.90 and colored versions at €49.90.
How can you spot a fake white carbon case?
Read the material line on the product page. If it only mentions a "carbon effect" without naming the fiber, or "white carbon" without further detail, the surface is probably painted or printed. An honest case names its material: carbon and aramid, fiberglass, or genuine carbon.
Are the white MAILLE and GIVRE cases MagSafe compatible?
Their product pages do not mention MagSafe compatibility, unlike those of the classic FIBRE, FORGE and BRUTE cases. If you use a magnetic charger or mount every day, check this point on the product page before ordering, or contact Fibernium.
Can I return my white case if I don't like it?
Yes. You have 30 days to return your case, and shipping is free. If the MAILLE diamond pattern or the GIVRE twill is not what you had in mind, you can change your mind and choose another finish or another model.
