An Apple Watch spends its day at exactly the height of door frames, car handles and desk corners. It is the only Apple device we wear permanently on the outside of ourselves — and the one that collects the most micro-impacts without our ever noticing. What a case really protects on an Apple Watch
The edges and the bezel, not the glass
On a watch, impacts are almost never head-on. They come at an angle: you brush against a wall, set your wrist down too quickly on a worktop, close a car door. The point of impact is the edge of the case — that border between the front face and the side, where aluminium or titanium marks on first contact.
A bumper-style case sits precisely there. It wraps around the perimeter of the case and rises slightly above the front face, so the glass never touches the surface if the watch lands flat. The screen remains fully responsive, the Digital Crown keeps its travel and its click, and the side button stays crisp under the finger.
What it does not do — by design
The back of the watch stays clear. This is a necessity: that is where the heart sensors and the inductive charging area sit. A case covering the back would render the watch unusable. Yours therefore goes on its charger exactly as before, with nothing to remove.
Nor is a case a screen protector. If your use is genuinely extreme — building sites, contact sports — pair it with a film. For the 95% of ordinary days that wear a watch down without anyone noticing, it is more than enough. Why carbon rather than anything else
On the wrist, two constraints are added to those of a phone case: weight and thickness. A watch thrown off balance by a heavy accessory rotates on its strap, and a case that is too thick catches on shirt cuffs.
This is where carbon is hard to fault. At equal rigidity, it weighs a fraction of what a metal part would; it needs no thickness to hold its shape, unlike silicone. Three finishes, three characters

FIBRE — the emblematic weave
The FIBRE finish reproduces the regular chequerboard of woven carbon fibre, the one you recognise on a racing wing or engine cover. Its reflections shift with the angle of the light: almost black head-on, they open up on the diagonal. It is the most legible finish, the one that states the material.
BRUTE — the forged marbling
The BRUTE finish is born from compressing thousands of short strands with no imposed orientation. The result: a marbled pattern, more organic, different on every piece produced. No two of our BRUTE cases are alike. It is the choice of restraint — from a distance you see a black watch; up close, a material.
Coloured BRUTE — carbon in colour
The coloured BRUTE version comes in red, blue, green, purple and gold. The pigments are fused into the resin at the moment of compression, not laid on the surface: the colour is part of the material and can neither chip nor fade. The marbling remains visible beneath the tint.

Which model for which watch?
Our Apple Watch cases come in three sizes, covering the recent large cases. The match is strict: a 45 mm case will not fit a 46 mm body — the corner radii and the crown position differ.

Fitting, removing, living with it
Fitting takes seconds, whether the watch is on your wrist or not: engage one side of the case, tilt, and it seats itself. The strap does not need to come off. To remove it, work in the opposite direction, without forcing the corners.
In use, maintenance amounts to very little: a slightly damp microfibre cloth is enough. No solvents, no abrasives — the resin that coats the fibre does not take kindly to high-strength alcohol. Our carbon care guide sets out the useful habits and the ones to avoid.

Frequently asked questions
Does the case prevent the Apple Watch from charging?
No. The back of the watch stays entirely clear: the inductive charging area and the sensors are never covered. You place the watch on its usual charger without removing the case.
Do the heart sensors work normally?
Yes, for the same reason. The case protects the perimeter of the body and the bezel; it never comes between the sensors and the skin.
Do I need to remove the strap to fit it?
No. The case goes on and comes off with the strap in place, by engaging one side and then tilting the other.
Is it real carbon fibre?
Yes, without exception. Every case is cut from a plate of real carbon — woven fibre for FIBRE, forged carbon for BRUTE. We sell no printed patterns, on any product in the catalogue.
Are my Series 6 or Watch SE compatible?
Our cases currently cover the 45, 46 and 49 mm bodies, meaning Series 7 to 11 and the three Ultra generations. Older or smaller bodies are not yet in the catalogue.
Can the colour fade over time?
No. On the coloured versions, the pigments are fused into the resin while the carbon is compressed, not applied to the surface. There is no paint or lacquer to chip.
How long does a carbon case last?
Far longer than the watch it protects, in most cases. Carbon does not deform, does not yellow and does not slacken — which is precisely what made it, long before us, an engineer's material.
